Peripheries is an audio broadcast platform hosted on a shelf in a terraced house in South Liverpool.
It is a work in progress built by artist Dave Evans to explore situated live audio broadcast. This is a way of sharing sound over the internet that directly acknowledges the place from which it comes. This might be though giving ‘voice’ to specific objects at the broadcast location, or a more general sharing of the local soundscape.
This site is hosted on a Rasberry Pi 4 and uses Icecast Streaming Media Server via Azuracast, and a Nginx webserver running a static site generated with Hugo using the PaperMod theme.
Development of this work has been supported by Arts Council England
